“I call on those on the educational ladder not to allow themselves to be used by politicians,” he said.

He made the remark in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.

Professor Oduro, also a former vice-chancellor of UCC, said that public institutions ranging from basic to tertiary lacked the infrastructure and resources needed to improve teaching and learning, a situation that sometimes resorted to institutions. higher education to teach students more theory than practice. .

These included the necessary equipment to give students the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and practical skills.
“That’s why sometimes private schools from primary to tertiary do better on the field than students in public schools,” he said.

He called on all citizens, government ministries and agencies, private bodies, policymakers, academia and the media to come together to assess the pros and cons of the education system, especially in government policy. concerning free high schools and help the government solve them.

“Many high schools don’t have equipment in their labs and other important facilities, so let’s all come together to rethink better ways to implement free SHS, which is good policy,” he said. advised.
